Fish Guardian

The player plays as the Fish Guardian. The Fish Guardian is an immortal figure who birthed Fishnity’s existence. After the flourish of Fishnity, the Fish Guardian retired into the depths of the sea to be left undisturbed in slumber. Now, the Fish Guardian has been called to defend their people. It’s not that the Fish Guardian doesn’t want to help Fishnity…but they don’t want to get up. At the start of the game, the Fish Guardian is an out-of-shape, childish and sarcastic character. They hesitate to take on the responsibilities put in front of them. Although they act like a whining child sometimes, the Fish Guardian does have wavering moral values. But the tragedy on Fishinity will decide it for them and lead the Fish Guardian to their destined path.

Fishnity

Fishnity is the entire population of fish under the Fish Guardian. They are citizens who live in constant fear of being fished. They voice their opinions to the Fish Guardian unapologetically. The Fishnity will act as an NPC in the game to let the player understand their perspective.

The Fishnity NPCs play a role in setting up the world and the Fish Guardian’s backstory in the beginning of the game. While they express their respect and admiration for the Fish Guardian, they notice the Fish Guardian’s rusty skills and try to remain optimistic for the Fish Guardian’s sake.

Trident Seafood Corporation

The Trident Seafood Corporation was first established as an oil company. Later, it discovered a huge opportunity in the Ocean market, especially in the fishing business. As a result, the company changed its name to Trident Seafood Corporation and shifted their focus to fishing. After several decades of hard work, the Corporation reached its domination of the global fishing market and increased revenue each year. With the power of money, the corporation made a deal with the government and formed its own armed forces to protect its fishing properties. In 2003, the TSC developed fishing technology that made the whole fishing process a lot more efficient. With this great advancement, the corporation can locate the Fishnity and the story changes. The corporation can now find the Fishnity without much effort.

TSC Workers

Fishermen: The NPCs throughout the game are all bottom-of-the-chain company workers or fishermen who speak their opinions to the Fish Guardian. They act as a narrative device to let the player know their choices have weight to them. In the end, these company workers are the ones who help guide the Fish Guardian to the technology the Fish Guardian seeks to destroy.

Armed Forces: These trained snipers who work under Trident Seafood Corporation actively attack the player. They shoot the player from different eye levels throughout the game and won’t stop until they hit their target.

Watchmen: They are the top fighters in the TSC, and the toughest enemy player will face. They have extremely heavy armor and are not afraid of the Fish Guardian. If players use the fishing rod toward them, they will grab it and drag players to them. Players need to continually parry and attack them to destroy their armor and deal damage to them.
